Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion & The Mechanical Marvel is the 19th film in the Pokemon franchise, and the third & final film in the Pokemon XY series. The movies name in Japanese when directly translated comes out as "Pokemon the Movie XY&Z: Volcanion and the Exquisite Magearna".

The movie was directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and compliments the final segment of the Pokemon XY anime: Pokemon Season 19 - XYZ.

The first we saw of the movie was in a vague teaser trailer at the end of Pokemon: Hoopa & The Clash of Ages. The trailer showed Zygarde in both his core and complete formes but didn't show a lot else.

It wasn't until January 2016's issue of CoroCoro that Volcanion was revealed to be taking a starring role in the movie, at this point the title of the movie had still not been revealed. That is until the March 2016 issue of CoroCoro gave the film further coverage; revealing both the movies title and Magearna as another prominent Pokémon within the film.

Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel was initially released in Japanese theaters on July 16th, 2016 with plans to release in the USA and Europe later on in the year.

In the U.S the movie was premiered on Disney XD on December 5th, 2016 and arrived in the UK via a showing on CITV on Novevmber 19th, 2016. DVD releases followed in 2017 for the USA and UK on March 21st and May 15th respectively.
