Best Wishes Until We Meet Again! is the 44th episode of Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond, the sixteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 794th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 799, Bulbapedia code BW141). It first aired in Japan on 19 September 2013 and in the United States on 30 November 2013. It falls within the season’s Homecoming stretch (EP141–EP142).
Synopsis
After foiling Team Rocket’s attempt to steal every Pokémon aboard their ship, the group reaches Kanto, where Iris and Cilan say goodbye to Ash. Team Rocket hoist the ship into the sky with balloons, trick the passengers into taking out their Poké Balls, vacuum them up, net Pikachu and Axew, and blast Ash, Iris and Cilan into the cargo hold, while Alexa, absorbed in her work, notices nothing.
The three friends stack crates, swing up on a hook as a human chain and drag Team Rocket back down to the deck. Charizard defeats Frillish and Amoonguss, Pikachu and Axew are freed, and Snivy’s Leaf Storm cuts the balloons to lower the ship back onto the water.
Over a meal in Vermilion City, Iris says she will train with Clair in Blackthorn City and Cilan plans to enter Mr. Briney’s Old Rod Fishing Rally. At the train station Ash, Iris and Cilan share a bittersweet farewell, and Ash calls after the departing train, remembering everything the three of them experienced together.
