This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on pokemondungeon.com, what each one is for and how you can control them. For everything else about how we handle personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.
Your choices
If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you’ll see a consent message from Google the first time you arrive. Until you agree, we don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. You can change your mind at any time:
If you’re visiting from the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, a “Change my privacy choices” button appears here once the page has loaded (it needs ads to be allowed to load, so an ad blocker can hide it). Wherever you are, you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
The same option is in the footer of every page as Privacy choices.
Wherever you are, you can:
- turn personalised ads on or off in Google’s My Ad Center;
- opt out of Google Analytics on every website with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on;
- block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, but you’ll need to stay logged in to a member account for the community features.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser so it can remember something the next time you visit, such as whether you’re logged in. “Local storage” works in a similar way but the information stays in your browser and is never sent to our server. Some cookies are set by us, and some by the services we use, such as Google.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to work or to remember your privacy choices, so they don’t need your consent.
Analytics
These help us understand which pages are popular and how people find the site, so we know what to improve. The reports we see are totals, not individual people. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland they are only used if you agree.
Advertising
Pokémon Dungeon is free to read because it shows ads from Google AdSense. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland these cookies are only used if you agree; otherwise Google may show limited, non-personalised ads.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in My Ad Center, and you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Videos and security checks
- YouTube videos. Trailers and openings on the site are YouTube videos. YouTube may set its own cookies (such as
YSCandVISITOR_INFO1_LIVE) when a video loads or plays. See Google’s privacy policy. - Cloudflare Turnstile. Our sign-up, sharing and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam bots. It checks information about your browser and connection when you use those forms. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Local storage
Your browser keeps a couple of small notes in local storage. They never leave your device: one stops a gallery or story being counted twice when you view it again on the same day, and one remembers Trainer Rank points from quizzes until you log in to claim them.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a service that uses cookies, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
Questions
If you have any questions about cookies on Pokémon Dungeon, please get in touch. In the UK you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
