Team Plasma’s Pokémon Manipulation! is the 20th episode of Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond, the sixteenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 770th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 775, Bulbapedia code BW117). It first aired in Japan on 14 March 2013 and in the United States on 15 June 2013. It falls within the season’s N on the road stretch (EP114–EP119).
Synopsis
Team Plasma use Colress’s improved EM device to turn a gentle Haxorus and Iris’s Dragonite against Ash’s group, and the battle leaves N badly hurt. In a city closed off by Officer Jenny because of the rampaging Haxorus, the group crosses the river in a leaky rowboat and meets Looker, who recognises N as the person Team Plasma has been seeking.
The Haxorus’s young Trainer begs it to stop as Pikachu’s Thunderbolt fails, and Colress seizes Dragonite too, sending it against Iris; Charizard and Cilan’s Crustle hold the two Dragon-types back. Colress, Aldith and their grunts confront N, saying Ghetsis wants him, and N declares that he is tired of obeying Ghetsis and will not let them manipulate Pokémon.
Team Rocket commandeer the helicopter carrying the control machine, and in the brawl a stray Shadow Ball from Aldith’s Liepard shuts it down, freeing both Pokémon. N, struck by Flamethrower and Hyper Beam while pleading with them, falls unconscious; as fog rolls in, two women with a Gothitelle and a Gardevoir carry him to a healing pool in a hidden forest, and Ash’s group follows.
