Black & White—Noble Victories, released on November 16, 2011, was the third set of the Black & White series — and a far more consequential one than the compact Emerging Powers before it. At 102 cards, it introduced one of the most iconic Trainer cards in the history of the game, alongside the Victory Pokémon Victini and a run of gorgeous Full Art secret rares.
It landed as the fifth-generation TCG hit its stride, drawing on more than ninety new Unova Pokémon and leaning into the era’s Mythical Pokémon. But its legacy rests, more than anything, on a single card named after a villain.
Let’s start with N.
New Legends for a Noble Victory!
The Black & White—Noble Victories expansion crowns you a noble among players! Choose from more than 90 amazing new Pokémon, including the Victory Pokémon Victini, plus new Fossil and Legendary Pokémon. Noble Victories helps you battle in style with new powers, new strategies, and new ways to conquer your opponents. So, seize the spoils—rally your Pokémon and get ready to battle your way to victory!

Enter N
N (92) is one of the most influential Supporter cards ever printed. Its effect is elegant and brutal: “Each player shuffles his or her hand into his or her deck. Then, each player draws a card for each of his or her remaining Prize cards.” The further behind you are — the more Prizes you still have to take — the bigger your new hand. The further ahead your opponent is, the smaller theirs.
That single rule made N the great equaliser. A player on the back foot could reload to six or five cards while stripping a winning opponent down to one or two — a built-in comeback mechanic and a disruption tool in one. It became an instant four-of staple that stayed relevant for years, and it’s named, fittingly, after N, the enigmatic leader of Team Plasma from Pokémon Black and White.
It also arrived in one of the set’s most coveted Full Art prints — the ultra-rare N (101), chased by collectors and competitive players alike.
N (92/101)
One of the most influential Supporters ever printed. Both players shuffle their hands away and draw a card for each Prize they still have to take — a built-in comeback that reloads the player who’s behind and starves the one who’s ahead.
N — Full Art (101/101)
The ultra-rare Full Art print of N, and one of the set’s signature chase cards — the same game-warping Supporter, rendered edge-to-edge.
Victini and Kyurem
The set’s namesake was Victini (14), the Victory Pokémon — a Mythical given a card to match its legend. Its Victory Star Ability let you re-roll the coin flips for one attack each turn, earning it the affectionate nickname “Fliptini” and a home in any deck that leaned on coins. Victini appeared in several versions across the set, including a Full Art secret.
Joining it was Kyurem (34), the icy third member of Unova’s dragon trio. A hard-hitting Basic, its Outrage grew stronger as it took damage, while Glaciate blanketed the opponent’s whole team for 30 apiece — a spread attacker that softened up knockouts across the board.
Victini (14/101)
The Victory Pokémon, and the set’s namesake. Victory Star lets you re-roll the coin flips for one attack each turn — the “Fliptini” engine behind every coin-flip deck of the era.
Kyurem (34/101)
Unova’s icy dragon as a heavy Basic. Outrage hits harder the more damage Kyurem has taken, while Glaciate spreads 30 across the opponent’s entire team.
New Engines, New Tools
Noble Victories quietly handed competitive players some of their favourite toys. Eelektrik (40) was an engine unto itself: its Dynamotor Ability attached a Lightning Energy from your discard pile to a Benched Pokémon every turn, for free. Stack a few Eelektrik and you could power up enormous attackers almost instantly — the backbone of the “Eels” decks that shaped the format.
On defence came Eviolite (91), a Pokémon Tool that shaved 20 damage off every hit a Basic Pokémon took. Cheap and universally splashable, it turned fragile Basics into stubborn walls and became one of the most-played Tools of its era.
Eelektrik (40/101)
A free energy engine. Dynamotor pulls a Lightning Energy from your discard onto a Benched Pokémon every turn — stack a few and you power up huge attackers in a flash. The heart of “Eels.”
Eviolite (91/101)
A cheap, universal Pokémon Tool: any Basic Pokémon it’s attached to takes 20 less damage from attacks. It turned fragile Basics into walls and became an era-defining staple.
Print Versions
Noble Victories came in four booster arts — Victini, Kyurem, Hydreigon and Druddigon. Every pack was a shot at a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, one of the set’s Full Art secret rares, and a code card for the online game.

Full Art Chase Cards
Noble Victories closed with a superb run of Full Art secret rares. Beyond the coveted Full Art N, the set crowned the returning Swords of Justice — Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion — with Full Art treatments, and gave the Victory Pokémon itself a stunning Full Art Victini (98).
And in a wink familiar from Black & White base’s secret Pikachu, the very last card in the set was a nostalgic outlier: a secret-rare Meowth (102), the lone classic-era face hidden behind a wall of Unova newcomers.
Victini — Full Art (98/101)
The Victory Pokémon given the Full Art treatment — a luminous secret-rare centrepiece for the set that bears its name.
Meowth — Secret (102/101)
The set’s final card and its nostalgic Easter egg: a secret-rare Meowth, the lone classic-era Pokémon tucked in behind a roster of Unova debutants.
For Collectors: Most Valuable Cards
Noble Victories (BW3, Nov 2011) built its value on five Full Art ultra-rares plus one Secret Rare. Victini’s Full Art leads the set, trailed by the debut N, Cobalion and Virizion, with the Meowth Secret Rare close behind; Terrakion’s Full Art is also popular. PSA 10 gems dwarf raw prices.
Most Powerful Cards (Competitive Play)
In 2011-2013 Modified, Noble Victories reshaped the meta. Terrakion handed every deck a one-Prize Fighting hitter, Eviolite blanked 2HKOs across a Basic-heavy format, and Reuniclus and Chandelure anchored grinding control decks, with Cobalion filling out Big Basics.
