Synopsis
Lusamine rewards the Ultra Guardians’ hard-working Ride Pokémon with a trip to the Pokémon Paradise Resort on Akala Island, where Team Rocket are working undercover as spa staff. On the boat, Sophocles explains that the resort draws guests from around the world, Lillie worries that the Ride Pokémon are worn out from their missions, and Mallow is surprised to find Oranguru aboard as a regular guest. The group checks in under the Ultra Guardians’ booking and learns about the resort’s Care Area and Play Area. When Pikachu, Poipole and Togedemaru eye the water slide, the students send their own Pokémon to play while Rotom accompanies the Ride Pokémon to their treatments: a Fatigue Recovery Course for Charizard, a Joint Care Course for Metang, a Moisturising Course for Dragonair and Altaria and a Stress Course for Flygon and Garchomp.
Team Rocket, working at the resort, see a chance to catch Pikachu, though James has to stop Mareanie from latching onto his head and giving them away. At the hot springs, Ash dives in, Flygon and Garchomp copy him with huge splashes, and Altaria forces Lillie into the water, prompting her to warn viewers not to try it at home; Charizard turns out to love hot springs. In the Play Area, Marowak and Pikachu try to coax Torracat and Turtonator onto the slide, until James and Meowth lure the Pokémon onto a boat that traps them. Meanwhile, Jessie dumps mud on Dragonair, which Lana is surprised to see it enjoy; Wobbuffet hands Sophocles a brush to oil Metang; Flygon and Garchomp race in the pool; and James, claiming to have massaged ten thousand Pokémon, helps Kiawe work on Charizard.
Team Rocket then call the students away for a fake Pokémon health event, separate them from their Ride Pokémon and fire a net, but Garchomp knocks the net gun out of James’s hand, and the trio realise their treatments have energised the Ride Pokémon rather than relaxed them. They flee by balloon with the caged Pokémon, and the Ride Pokémon give chase: the oiled Metang blocks Mareanie’s Sludge Bomb, Garchomp and Flygon break open the cage, and the Ride Pokémon catch the falling Pokémon before Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Ice Beam and Flash Cannon blow up the balloon. Bewear emerges from a water slide to rescue the trio, and the classmates enjoy a flower bath with their Pokémon. Finally, Team Rocket soak in a hot spring with Bewear, who refuses to let them out until they count to one hundred, while Oranguru watches from a nearby pool.
