Synopsis
In Reflection Cave Ash is pulled into a mirror world, where he meets very different versions of his friends and helps his crybaby double rescue both their Pikachu from Team Rocket. Ash’s reflection grabs Pikachu and drags it through a glowing crystal wall, and Ash follows into a forest where a bold Mirror Serena, a teasing Mirror Bonnie and a mystic Mirror Clemont doubt his story until Froakie beats Mirror Serena’s Fennekin.
Mirror Ash, a timid crybaby, arrives with Ash’s Pikachu, explaining that he lost his own wild Pikachu in the cave and grabbed the wrong one; Team Rocket, calling themselves “Heroes of Justice”, then cage both Pikachu. Back home Clemont’s Other Dimension Converter explodes, while Mirror Clemont tracks the Pikachu with his staff.
Both Ashes send out Hawlucha, which falter against Inkay and Pumpkaboo, but Ash encourages his double, Mirror Clemont grabs the cages, and Mirror Fennekin’s Hidden Power frees the Pikachu, whose Thunderbolts blast Team Rocket off. Warned that anyone left in the mirror world after sunset stays forever, Ash returns through drifting portals as Serena catches his hand, while the stranded Team Rocket meet their Mirror World selves, the real Heroes of Justice.
