Synopsis
As the once-a-decade Conley Comet passes over an island, Ash’s group wins the trust of the Ghost-type Pokémon that once followed the legendary Trainer Conley, and Alexa reveals her Noivern. Alexa tells how Conley befriended the Pokémon terrorising the island when the comet lit the sky, and a mysterious crowned woman hands Ash a star-shaped medal without explanation.
Team Rocket, disguised as Ghost-types to frighten the group, topple Conley’s statue and anger the real Gengar, Banette and Dusknoir. Noivern’s Dragon Pulse clears an escape, Alexa explains that it bites anything unless fed a Spelon Berry, and after the group splits up, the Ghosts see Conley’s medal fall from Ash’s pocket and lead him, Alexa and Meowth to the old battlefield.
When Team Rocket snatch Pikachu, the Ghosts’ Psychic downs the balloon, Noivern’s Boomburst cancels Frillish’s and Amoonguss’s attacks, and Electro Ball blasts the trio away. The comet passes, and the Ghosts perform their Comet Dance with the mysterious woman. The next morning Alexa’s footage shows only static, the medal is gone, and an old picture shows Conley beside the same woman.
