Jigglypuff is walking through the forest at night singing, knocking out wild Pokemon as it goes and grafitti’ing their faces, when it notices a UFO crash to the ground, it approaches and the UFO’s doors open revealing a large group of Clefairy.

The next day Ash and friends are on the way to Viridian City to challenge for Ash’s 8th badge, but they stop for Ice Cream on the way. Just then a Clefairy approaches the group, Misty tries to capture it using her Ice Cream as bait, but it runs, Misty gives chase with the others just behind, but they left their backpack and Ice Cream behind and someone took it all. They return to find everything missing including the Ice Cream and decide to report the crime to Officer Jenny, but unfortunately shes got a queue, it seems theres been a massive crimewave. But Brock doesn’t think it makes sense, people have had bottle caps, coat buttons, birthday candles etc stolen items that aren’t really that valuable, a scientist named Oswald arrives and says he thinks its Aliens doing it, and that he has evidence, one of the UFO’s in his scrap book was sighted 3 days ago which is when all the crime started!

Ash, Misty and Brock decide to join the search for the Alien suspects, seeing as they really need their stuff back anyway. Oswald uses a device to find them, just then a UFO lands directly in front of them, two aliens emerge and take Pikachu inside, then depart in their UFO but it turns out these were imposters, and it was just Jessie and James, their flying saucer wasn’t even flying, it was just Meowth using a crane to lift it. Ash uses Pidgeotto to cut the crane cable and Team Rocket crash to the ground, As Team Rocket are about to attack a Clefairy turns up closely followed by Jigglypuff, Oswalds scanner goes off so he concludes that Clefairy, Jigglypuff and then even Misty are aliens, she doesn’t take kindly to this and breaks his scanner. Clefairy steals Pikachu from Team Rocket and runs off, being chased by Jigglypuff and then by Ash and gang, leaving Team Rocket incapacitated after running into Clefairy’s barrier. They arrive at a dead-end but Jigglypuff finds a manhole and removes the cover, Jigglypuff jumps in followed by Ash and then the others reluctantly join them. After sliding down a series of pipes they find an underground cave where the Clefairy are building a spaceship, it’s then that they realise thats why they must be stealing such peculiar items, to use as parts for their ship. They then see the Clefairy with Pikachu and realise the Clefairy must be intending to use Pikachu’s electric power to help launch the craft.

Ash and Misty (and Jigglypuff) go to get Pikachu, Oswald decides to go into space and Brock goes off to get Officer Jenny, Team Rocket have made it to the cave too and run aboard the ship hoping to steal Pokemon. Ash and friends reach Pikachu but a group of Clefairy block their path and refuse to give Pikachu back, Jigglypuff steps in and starts double slapping all the Clefairy, defeating all of them and departing, leaving Ash and co to rescue Pikachu.

Oswald and Jigglypuff reach the control center of the craft, and Jigglypuff challenges the Clefairy captain, a “fierce” battle ensues but unfortunately Oswald breaks the joystick on the control panel, which turns out to be Clefairy’s microphone, and it all becomes apparent why Jigglypuff was attacking the Clefairy, it immediately bursts into song putting everyone in the cave to sleep. The launch countdown finishes while everyones asleep and launch begins, meanwhile Brock is trying and failing to convince Officer Jenny that Clefairy stole the items to build a space ship, a huge ramp appears from the street in front of them and the spacecraft comes flying out, dropping everyones missing items back to their owners in the process. The craft splits into two during the launch, Ash and Misty awaken, find their backpacks and try to abandon ship but they’re too high, the ship is passing over a skyscraper and Ash uses Bulbasaurs vine whip to swing onto it’s roof. The Clefairy fly away in their ship for a great big adventure, fishermen in another town witness another UFO crash down which contains Clefairy and Oswald and stuff starts going missing somewhere else!

Officer Jenny thanks Ash and his friends, who then wave goodbye and continue on their journey with Jigglypuff following behind.
