Synopsis
Mallow helps Oranguru run its forest café for Pokémon and earns a Grassium Z from Tapu Koko, while Ash and Olivia help out at Aina’s Kitchen. At the restaurant, Mallow introduces a Fluffy Radish dish to Olivia, and her father, Abe, sends her to collect Big Mushrooms from Oranguru. At Oranguru’s café, Meowth is trying to relax when Bewear scoops up the complaining Jessie and James, delivers supplies to Oranguru, buys a drink for Stufful and carries the pair away, leaving Meowth behind. Mallow arrives, Meowth suspects that she is up to something, and a troupe of Passimian floods in for drinks. Back at Aina’s Kitchen, Ash comes to return a frying pan and finds Olivia serving tables alone and breaking glasses as she shows off, so he pitches in. Mallow serves Moomoo Milk to Officer Jenny’s Gumshoos, and a swarm of Fearow that Meowth fears are attackers turn out to be customers.
Learning that the Fearow prefer Belue Berries, Mallow blends them with Durin Berries, following Lillie’s advice on complementary flavours, and the drinks are a hit. Pancham and Pangoro enjoy a bamboo salad, a pair of Heracross sip a sap drink, Ribombee and Cutiefly share Oranguru’s flower nectar, and Grandpa Forest roars with delight at a freshly squeezed Haban Berry juice. Back at Aina’s Kitchen, Kiawe, Lillie, Lana and Sophocles arrive to help, and Primarina and the other Pokémon catch a stack of plates that Olivia drops. As night falls and Shiinotic light the café, Meowth reluctantly admits that Mallow’s drinks are delicious. Then Tapu Koko arrives, and Oranguru encourages Mallow to cook for the guardian deity, which makes her very nervous until Shaymin and Tsareena cheer her on.
Mallow kneads Poni radish into dough, bakes it over a Torkoal’s flame and builds a Fluffy Radish Burger topped with honey, nuts and a Pecha Berry. Tapu Koko eats it inside its shell, drops back a clean plate and gives Mallow a Grassium Z as thanks. Mallow decides that Aina’s Kitchen should welcome Pokémon as well as people, and Oranguru gives her the Big Mushrooms and an old Z-Ring. At the exhausted restaurant, Abe thanks his helpers, and Mallow reveals her prize and the battered Z-Ring, which Olivia repairs and fits with a new strap of green beads. Olivia suggests that the whole day was a trial set up by Oranguru. Mallow puts on the Z-Ring and inserts her Grassium Z, and Lillie points out that all six friends now have Z-Rings, which they proudly show off together.
