Synopsis
Separated from her teammates, Jessie mends her Mimikyu’s torn disguise and earns its trust, while Ash’s Lycanroc masters Continental Crush and finally lands it in battle. Back at school after the Akala trip, Ash is eager to use his new Rock-type Z-Move. When Team Rocket capture Pikachu, Ash battles with Lycanroc, but their Continental Crush fails. Kiawe’s Turtonator frees Pikachu with Inferno Overdrive, blasting Team Rocket off, but this time Bewear does not arrive. Jessie and Mimikyu bounce off a Pikachu balloon and land in town, where Mimikyu emerges from a bush with its disguise torn and refuses to return to its Luxury Ball. Jessie buys two malasadas, which three Murkrow steal, and her attempt to disguise Mimikyu with the empty bag is not a success. In the forest James, Meowth and Wobbuffet search for her, then rush to the mall in fear that Jessie will spend all their money.
In a clothing shop Jessie tries to find Mimikyu a new outfit, but it attacks her and runs off. At school Ash and Lycanroc keep failing at Continental Crush, and Professor Kukui suggests that Lycanroc lacks the experience to control its newly evolved power, so they go back to basics. At the mall Jessie, almost out of money, buys a single malasada, and when Mimikyu attacks the Pikachu balloon she stops it and offers to fix its disguise, which Mimikyu hands over. While Lycanroc tires from practising Rock Throw, Lana’s Popplio tows Mallow and Steenee on water-skis with Aqua Jet. Jessie sews the disguise, but the Murkrow steal both the malasada and the costume; Jessie climbs a tree to recover the malasada and leaps to catch the disguise.
James and Meowth see an explosion at the mall and find the Pikachu balloon burst. Jessie returns the disguise and shares the malasada with Mimikyu. When the Murkrow return in force, Mimikyu tears open the bag, shields Jessie’s and James’s eyes and slips back into its disguise, but Meowth glimpses its true form and drifts into a flower-field fantasy of Giovanni’s lap. Following Jessie’s orders, Mimikyu dodges the Murkrow and drives them off. Jessie decides to take on Ash, while James and Meowth watch from a distance at school. Mimikyu dodges Lycanroc’s Rock Throw but goes after Pikachu instead, and when Jessie orders it to target Lycanroc, Ash and Lycanroc land Continental Crush, blasting Team Rocket into Bewear’s arms. The trio end the day eating Berries at Bewear’s den, and the opening now shows Lycanroc’s Continental Crush.
