Synopsis
Serena gives Eevee its stage debut at the Couriway Town Showcase in a bid for her third Princess Key, but Eevee stumbles in the Freestyle round and Jessie walks away with the win. Arriving in Couriway Town, Eevee grows nervous at the sight of the theatre, and Serena, Braixen and Pancham spend the night calming her down. Palermo has also come to town to watch the Showcase, and she recognises Serena from a past performance. Team Rocket sneak around the theatre trying to learn the Theme Performance in advance so that Jessie can get a head start. The next morning Serena reunites with Nini, who now has two Princess Keys and a new Gothita. Monsieur Pierre announces the theme: Performers must bake Poké Puffs while dancing with their Pokémon, and only those who reach a set number of audience votes will move on to the Freestyle Performance. Jessie and Meowth are stunned to find that the theme is not what they expected.
Nini goes first with Smoochum, Farfetch’d and Gothita and advances easily, and Jessie follows with Meowth and Wobbuffet and also gets through. Serena performs with Pancham, wins over the crowd and secures enough votes to advance. With the Freestyle round set for the evening, the friends have a picnic, but Eevee is too nervous to eat until Clemont dices an Oran Berry and a Sitrus Berry into a more tempting meal. In the evening, Nini presents a dramatic routine, a newcomer named Sara Lee performs with Leafeon and Glaceon, and Jessie thrills the audience by having Wobbuffet bounce Gourgeist’s attacks back with Counter. Serena takes the stage with Braixen and Eevee, knowing that a third Princess Key would earn her a place in the Master Class and a chance to become Kalos Queen.
Braixen surrounds Serena and Eevee with a ring of fire as they dance, and Eevee leaps several times before landing on Braixen’s flaming branch. When the audience roars its approval, Eevee is startled, loses her balance and falls flat on her face. Serena encourages her to keep going, and Eevee gets up and finishes the routine smiling and posing, but she is downcast as soon as it ends. Serena comforts her and promises they will do better next time. When the five Performers gather on stage and the audience votes with their Glow Casters, Jessie receives the most votes and wins the Couriway Rookie Class. Meowth and Wobbuffet weep with joy as Monsieur Pierre’s Klefki presents Jessie with her first Princess Key, and she imagines her future as a famous Performer. The friends say goodbye to Nini, and Serena reassures Eevee that they will win the next one.
