Synopsis
When a storm knocks out a Pokémon Center’s power, Clemont’s Chespin and Bunnelby are sent on their first errand to fetch a fuse, and despite distractions, a thieving Fearow and Team Rocket, they bring it home. The group shelters from a downpour at a busy Pokémon Center, where Clemont’s Weather Predictor explodes when he tries to speed up its analysis. Then a roof leak causes a short circuit that cuts the power, so Clemont uses Luxray, Pikachu and Dedenne as a temporary power source while Nurse Joy keeps treating patients and Serena and Bonnie help hand out Berries. Ash climbs onto the roof with Hawlucha and Frogadier, whose frubbles keep him from slipping, to replace the missing shingles, while Bunnelby scrubs the wet floor and Dedenne dozes.
Nurse Joy has no spare fuse, but a nearby shop may. Chespin bursts out of its Poké Ball to volunteer, and Bunnelby joins it. Clemont ties a purse holding instructions around Chespin’s neck, warns them to stay on the path and gets back to work. Team Rocket see a chance to grab the pair and use them as bait for Pikachu. Chespin keeps getting distracted by puddles, a food shop and a Marill, while Bunnelby keeps pulling it back into line. A Fearow swoops down and steals the purse; Chespin’s vines miss, so it throws Bunnelby into the air to snatch it back, and Bunnelby digs a hole to escape the angry Fearow, leaving them far from the path. Back at the Center, Ash finishes the roof and sends Fletchinder and Noibat to search from the sky.
Team Rocket demand that Chespin and Bunnelby surrender, and when they refuse, Gourgeist and Inkay attack. Bunnelby blocks Psybeam with Mud Shot and Chespin blocks Seed Bomb with Vine Whip, and when Fletchinder blocks another Shadow Ball, Ash and Noibat arrive. Chespin whispers a plan: Bunnelby digs underground and bursts out with Mud Shot, and Chespin’s Pin Missile blasts Team Rocket off. Ash tells the pair to finish their errand, and they return with the fuse, which restores the power. Nurse Joy rewards everyone with food, and Clemont tells Chespin to eat as much as it likes; it overeats until it feels sick and is rushed away for treatment, the first patient since the power came back, as Serena jokes.
