Clemont’s Got a Secret! is the 9th episode of Pokémon the Series: XY, the seventeenth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 804th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 809, Bulbapedia code XY009). It first aired in Japan on 5 December 2013 and in the United States on 15 March 2014. It falls within the season’s Clemont’s secret stretch (EP9–EP10).
Synopsis
Back in Lumiose City, Clemont reveals that he is the Lumiose Gym Leader, locked out of his own Gym by the robot he built to stand in for him, and reclaims it with his friends’ help. Clemont and Bonnie’s father, Meyer, scolds Clemont for not visiting and rides off. Clemont explains that he built Clembot to run the Gym so he could invent, but a fault made it enforce a strict four-Badge rule and a wrong voice code shut him out.
At Prism Tower angry Trainers complain that Clembot refuses them and throws out anyone it beats. Inside, Magnemite and Magneton try to stop the group until Froakie’s frubbles pin them, and Clemont remembers the correct code and challenges Clembot. Clembot’s Heliolisk overpowers Bunnelby at first, but Dig and Double Team set up a super-effective Mud Shot that wins.
Clemont reprograms Clembot to drop the Badge rule and stop ejecting challengers, leaves it in charge, and tells Meyer everything; Meyer happily lets his children keep travelling. Ash promises to return with four Badges and battle Clemont himself, not Clembot, and that night Blaziken Mask and his Blaziken leap across the city’s rooftops.
