Synopsis
When a famous gem is stolen during a shipboard tournament, Cilan plays detective and, with help from a Purrloin he fears, exposes a master thief. Mrs. Ripple’s collection includes the Eye of Liepard, which Mr. Shaw begs to buy; Iris loses the Marine Cup to Teaque’s Vanillite, and Ash reaches the final against Teaque’s Galvantula.
Clashing Thunderbolts black out the ship; Shaw sneaks into the jewel room, and when the lights return the gem is gone. Ash wins the final with Iron Tail, Mrs. Ripple’s Purrloin claws at Teaque, and suspicion falls on Shaw, but nothing is found in his belongings.
Following Purrloin’s hints and a wet spot beside the case, Cilan deduces that Galvantula caused the blackout to give Teaque an alibi while his Vanillite crept through the vents and opened the lock with a key of ice that melted. Teaque confesses and orders Blizzard, but Special Agent Tedesco of the International Police and his Growlithe stop him, and Purrloin pulls off his disguise. When Cilan finally explains why he fears Purrloin, Ash and Iris are shocked.
