A Breed Stampede! is the 2nd episode of Pokémon DP: Galactic Battles, the twelfth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 569th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 573, Bulbapedia code DP106). It first aired in Japan on 11 December 2008 and in the United States on 16 May 2009. It falls within the season’s Canalave & the Mine Badge stretch (EP105–EP109).
Synopsis
Dawn’s newly evolved Piloswine refuses to obey her, and in the middle of a Team Rocket trap it evolves again into a powerful but still unruly Mamoswine. While waiting for Byron, Dawn learns on TV that Kenny and Nando have won new Ribbons and that a Contest is coming to Chocovine Town, but Piloswine only moves for Poffins and charges at anyone in its way.
When Piloswine traps Dawn in ice, Ash’s Gliscor learns Fire Fang to melt it, and Grotle shows off the defensive style it learned from Paul’s Torterra. Disguised as punks, Team Rocket lure the group to a “Pokémon Friendship School”, where a calisthenics class ends with the Pokémon caught in a cage hanging from a balloon.
Pachirisu’s Discharge startles Piloswine into shaking the cage loose, and when Jessie’s Yanmega attacks with Silver Wind, Piloswine glows and evolves into Mamoswine. It smashes free, freezes Team Rocket and sends them flying with Take Down, then turns on Dawn too. As Dawn worries about controlling it, Nurse Joy announces that Byron is back.
