Synopsis
The Rising Volt Tacklers battle a mighty Entei as a submarine volcano erupts off Johto, only to find that it is a wild Entei that leaves with Raikou and Suicune; meanwhile Cervantis is revealed as Amethio’s father, and Briar reports that Lucius’s Entei may be in Area Zero. Following reports of sightings around an archipelago, the crew find the first island empty of Pokémon; Dot fears an eruption, but Friede finds no sign of volcanic activity. When Ludlow finds a beached Huntail, Mollie treats it and returns it to the sea, and Dot’s suggestion that it was fleeing something leads Friede to guess that Entei, a Pokémon linked to volcanoes, will appear near a submarine volcano. The crew waits there through the night. A roar wakes them and schools of fleeing Pokémon signal danger; Murdock moves the airship clear just as the volcano erupts and forms a new island. Friede lands on a neighbouring island with the trio, sending Charizard to guard the ship, and Entei appears on a clifftop, answering their calls only with roars before leaping down to fight.
With Entei a Fire type, Quaxwell and Crocalor use Water and Ground moves while Floragato and Captain Pikachu distract it. Entei’s Pressure briefly intimidates the starters, Captain Pikachu dodges Sacred Fire, and Floragato’s Magical Leaf blinds it, but Water Gun and Stomping Tantrum miss and Fire Fang counters Thunder Punch. Quick Attack and Liquidation land without making it flinch. Crocalor is caught by Extrasensory and hit by Sacred Fire, and Captain Pikachu, shielding him, is burned. Entei’s Eruption destroys Captain Pikachu’s Double Team clones and endangers everyone; Quaxwell shields Floragato from falling rocks, and both are hit by Sacred Fire. Captain Pikachu lands a Volt Tackle despite the recoil while Quaxwell and Floragato block the next Sacred Fire, yet Entei stands firm. Inspired by Captain Pikachu, Crocalor pushes through another Extrasensory, and as his Stomping Tantrums grow stronger with each miss, he finally lands a super-effective hit that makes Entei flinch.
Entei nods as if approving of the Trainers, but when Liko and Pagogo ask it to join the Six Heroes, neither Pagogo nor the heroes on Lucius’s belt react. Entei turns towards the newborn island, where lightning heralds Raikou and an aurora announces Suicune; Entei leaps across the sea to join them, and the three Legendary beasts gather until they vanish at sunrise. Realising that this is not Lucius’s Entei, the crew guesses that the beasts came to celebrate the island’s birth. In Levincia, Amethio asks Cervantis at Exceed for information about Laquium; without looking at him, Cervantis says that Chairman Gibeon has the data, and after Amethio leaves, Spinel jokes about how much trouble Cervantis’s son is at his age, and Cervantis agrees. Then Briar calls the Brave Olivine with a sketch from the Scarlet Book and a brief surveillance clip of an Entei-like Pokémon spotted in Area Zero, hoping it will finally win Geeta’s approval for her investigation, and the Rising Volt Tacklers set course for Paldea and the Great Crater.
