Synopsis
Dawn and Brock clash with Marilyn, a Trainer obsessed with cute Pokémon, before the group change into winter clothes sent by Dawn’s mother. In Shelter Town near Snowpoint City, Dawn is waiting for a parcel when Marilyn arrives, hugs Buneary, dismisses Piplup as not cute enough and challenges Dawn with her Cherubi.
Cherubi spends the battle striking dramatic poses and stalling with Protect until Brock tells Marilyn to battle properly; then a rapid flurry of attacks and Solar Beam defeat Buneary. Team Rocket plan to steal Cherubi, and after Jessie’s “Jessirilyn” disguise fails, Brock challenges Marilyn to a three-on-three battle with James disguised as the referee.
Sudowoodo ties with Cherubi after copying its dramatics with Mimic and Fake Tears, and Croagunk beats Chingling with Brick Break. When Team Rocket steal Marilyn’s Poké Balls, her Shellder, a Pokémon she once rejected, freezes them with Ice Beam, and Happiny’s Pound blasts them off. Johanna’s parcel brings winter outfits, and the group set off for Snowpoint City.
