Talkin’ ‘Bout an Evolution is the 26th episode of Pokémon: Master Quest, the fifth season of the Pokémon anime, and the 235th episode of the English dub overall (Japanese episode 237, Bulbapedia code EP235). It first aired in Japan on 7 February 2002 and in the United States on 15 February 2003. It falls within the season’s Ecruteak, the Egg & the Lake of Rage stretch (EP226–EP236).
Synopsis
While lost in the forest near Lake Gyarados, Ash and company stumble upon a Team Rocket plan to create the ultimate pokémon army with an evolution inducement machine. The side effect of this experiment has led them to a new weapon that makes pokémon weak and listless. Jessie and James also stumble upon their operation, and have been helping them in order to feel like useful contributors (and eat) again. They meet Lance the dragon master who is investigating the operations. He sends Ash and company away, but they return to help the red gyarados, and wind up being captured instead.
