Synopsis
In Mochew City, Liko and Roy reunite with Mollie, now back at her family’s Pokémon Center, and together they cure a Laquium-poisoned Vileplume when Liko’s Hattrem Terastallizes and learns Healing Wish. Mollie and her Chansey, both in Nurse Joy uniforms, hand Poké Balls back to a grateful Trainer while the Brave Olivine’s Maushold helps out; her mother, herself a Nurse Joy, tells her how glad she is to have her home, and Mollie responds coolly. When her shift ends she reads that Pokémon have been found hurt in Woody Park and hurries off. At a hotel, Liko and Roy overhear guests describing Pokémon suddenly falling ill there, their energy drained away. They investigate after dark, jumping at faces that turn out to be the shadows of branches and leaves, and find Mollie by lantern light with Chansey and Maushold, treating a Furret poisoned by unusually strong venom. Mollie is pleased that they are travelling together, but when they say they have restarted the Rising Volt Tacklers she asks them not to use the name.
A flashback shows the remaining crew deciding, soon after Friede vanished, that with Pagogo taken to Laqua, the Laquium gone, the engine badly damaged and no way to work properly without Friede, the team should disband; Roy and Dot objected, but Liko reluctantly agreed. In the present, Mollie fully supports Liko and Roy travelling together and treasures her memories of the crew, but does not want them to carry the team’s name or its tarnished legacy. Roy refuses to give it up, and Liko argues that public opinion can change, as Litten Smitten’s did. Cap senses trouble, and after treating more poisoned Pokémon they find the source: a Vileplume that Mollie insists would never spread poison without reason. Roy recognises Laquium’s signs. Magical Leaf and Flamethrower are blocked, Lucario is immune to poison but its Metal Claw releases a bigger cloud of pollen and Effect Spore paralyses it, and Vileplume’s Giga Drain erases the damage from Hattrem’s super effective Confusion.
Lucario shields Hattrem from another Giga Drain, and Maushold clears the toxic pollen with Tidy Up, aided by Kilowattrel’s wings and Cap’s Rising Volt Tackle. Liko Terastallizes Hattrem into the Psychic type for the first time, Maushold draws the Vileplume’s attention with Follow Me, and a boosted Confusion knocks it down. As Hattrem prepares a final blow it stops, sensing the Vileplume’s anger and wanting to help rather than fight. Heal Pulse is not enough and poisons Hattrem, but with Chansey’s help Hattrem learns Healing Wish and calms the Vileplume just before fainting, and Pagogo removes the Laquium. At the Pokémon Center, Liko and Roy overhear visitors talking about power-up spheres about to go on sale. Mollie declines to rejoin them for now, preferring to keep learning at the Center until the team is fully reunited. Liko and Roy return the Vileplume to Woody Park, where it makes peace with its friends, and Cap spots an Exceed facility at the edge of the forest. Follow Me and Effect Spore appear in the anime for the first time.
