The box art for Pokémon Gold on the Game Boy Color — the Generation II adventure through the Johto region — in high resolution, across several regional releases.

Launched in Japan (ポケットモンスター 金) on 21 November 1999 and worldwide through 2000–2001, Gold introduced a real-time clock with day and night cycles, 100 new Pokémon, held items and breeding — then let you return to the entire Kanto region afterwards. Its cover legendary is Ho-Oh.
