415Honey Trees are Sinnoh’s equivalent of the technique of using Headbutt on trees in Johto. However, it’s not as easy as 1, 2, 3. There are a few, no, quite a lot of things that you have to keep in mind when dealing with slathering that sweet, sticky Honey all over those trees.

Using Honey in a cave, in the grass, or on water works in the same method as the move, Sweet Scent.

Location, Location, Location…
There are a total of 21 Honey Trees spread throughout Sinnoh where you can use Honey to attract Pokémon. They are at:

  • Route 205 south
  • Route 205 north
  • Route 206
  • Route 207
  • Route 208

  • Fuego Ironworks
  • Floaroma Meadow

Four of the 21 trees are preset as “Munchlax trees”, much like the Feebas tile spots in RSE. The “Munchlax trees” are set when you start a new game, and you only have a 1% chance of finding a Munchlax in these trees, so as you can obviously see - it is extremely difficult. Otherwise, the location of the trees really aren’t that important, just when finding Munchlax! You have a chance of finding several Pokemon after using a honey tree. Like stated before, certain trees are Munchlax trees, and others are not.

The Process
Finding Pokémon on a Honey Tree is actually really easy. First, you slather the Honey onto the tree, and… you wait.
Wait at least 6 hours before returning to check the Honey tree, but don’t forget about it, because the Pokémon will flee - and it will be a waste of Honey - after 24 hours.

Finding Honey
One of the trickier parts of utilizing the Honey trees is coming across the sweet stickiness. There is a 50% chance of finding Honey on a wild Combee (which is only obtained via honey trees), but they have an ability much like PickUp that lets them obtain Honey after every other battle, very useful.
Of course there’s the conventional method of buying Honey for $100 a piece at the Honey Man’s house in Floaroma Meadow.
