While answers to this question remain uncertain and vague to the Pokémon fans, we still anticipate some good news from Nintendo. It was on 27th February 1996, when the first games were released in this franchise in Japan, hence, marking the 25th year of existence this year.If you can recall, during the Pokémon 20th anniversary a lot happened. The Pokken and Pokémon Go were released, and there were also many crossover events in games that took place to mark that season such as Splatoon and Super Mario Maker.
However, it is still not that clear what Nintendo has in store for the Pokémon fans as they celebrate 25 years of enjoying this trading card game of its type. But, at least we have a few things that were announced to happen this year, which we will mention in this article. These promises from Pokémon Company will be clearer as the year elapses. But we are hopeful that there will be more interesting releases soonest from Nintendo. Now, Pokémon is among the top 3 trading card games that have gained a lot of International popularity over time. This makes it one of the best TCG in the market today. Did you know that as of March 2020 over 30.4 billion Pokemon cards have been sold? Yes, they did, and this isn’t a negligible achievement, Right?
While this may sound unrealistic, the truth is that this trading card game has continued to gain popularity over and again every year. Each Pokémon generation has had a tremendous impact on the fictional Pokémon world. Let’s answer this question first…
How Many Pokémon Generations Are There? As of now, there are eight Pokémon generations. And, this franchise is revolving around 898 species of collectible monsters that are fictional. Although, there are still more that are cropping up with time.You will note that a new region to be explored is always introduced in line with a birth of a new generation of Pokémon. Also, we have realized that between 70 and 160 monsters get added in each generation as a result of the introduction of a new region of exploration. Incredible News Announced by Pokémon Company for Their 25th AnniversaryPokémon Company International has announced some of the events that will mark the occasion, as they celebrate 25 years of influence in the card games realm.They have announced that in late 2021, there shall be a release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which are remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl from 2006. Another incredible news is that of the open-world Pokémon legends: Arceus anticipated to surface in early 2022. This will feature many similarities with The Legends of Zelda: Breath of the World. It will be easier to create Sinnoh’s first Pokedex as well in this new game.Also, on 30th April 2021, the new Pokémon snap will be ready for release for Nintendo Switch, which has a new gameplay trailer. It will feature photo editing among other tools.
As we mentioned earlier, this 25th anniversary seems to be pregnant with a lot of goodies as was the 20th anniversary. Isn’t that so exciting! More will be transpiring this season as we celebrate Pokémon's achievements in the trading cards game.
Pokémon Company is also looking forward to teaming up with a universal music group to create Pokémon-themed music that will be released this year as well. They are looking forward to collaborating with Katy Perry among other musicians. You will see more 25th anniversary-themed merchandise, which will be coming to Pokémon center.
